Cleaning Myths around your House

The more my soap/shampoo foams, the better it cleans

All the foam is chemically placed there because of our belief that more foam cleans better!! Companies use that misconception to their advantage and just add more chemicals, so it foams more, so we buy more. – Check out for the foaming chemical Sodium lauryl sulfate and sodium Laureth sulfate (SLS and SLES) in your products

All sanitisers are good

Did you know there are good bacteria too that help our bodies system’s function? Also that the alcohol in some sanitisers can dry your hands out so that cracks and sores can start developing? In most circumstances just washing your hands thoroughly is sufficient. If you do not have soap and water and you must use sanitizers try using one with a natural alcohol that is softer on your hands. Aloe vera is also an important added product to moisturise your hands. “Thieves” hand sanitizers make use of peppermint ethanol that is a natural alcohol and much softer on your hands.

A little bit of toxin does not have an impact

Think of your body as a shower drain. In time all the little bits of hair and stuff build up in the drain to a point where the water does not want to run out. The same with our bodies. All the little bits of toxins that enter our bodies build up and have an impact on one’s health and natural body systems.

Fragrances and perfumes are natural

Although the smell of fragrances and perfumes are of nature like lavender or orange. Most of them are chemically manufactured and have no actual plant base material in your product. These synthetic fragrances and perfumes are carcinogenic and can cause neurotoxicity, allergies, and skin sensitivities. Companies hide behind “Trade secrets” so as not to disclose the chemicals they use to create these smells. Medical grade essential oil is a great and healthy alternative to air fresheners.
